Scary gibberish

My brain is a wild jungle full of scary gibberish.

Every once in a while, the oddest thoughts go through my head. Examples include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Was Sparta named after Spartacus, or Spartacus after Sparta?
• Why don’t carpenters make carpets? Carpenters should make carpets.
• Did the first settlers come from Settle or was Settle named after the settlers? (yes, I know which one is more likely, thankyouverymuch).

At other times, I would get a random quote in my head. It is soon followed by the following thoughts: “why is it here?” “what does it want from me?” and most importantly – “where did it come from?!”. I will then of course not rest until I figure out where the quote is from. Today, for example, I was in the shower, washing my hair and minding my own business when suddenly, unprovoked: “You yielded in the past” is in my head. First there was the odd moment of trying to figure out how the hell that just popped into my head, and then came the challenging game of “place the quote”. I figured it out, if you’re curious.

Anyway, the point is that much like Lorelei Gilmore – my brain is a wild jungle full of scary gibberish. Although perhaps not as scary as hers.
